Kenaz had a fever 102 F last Friday. Yet he had a good appetite and He was very active. We started given him a Tylenol fever. Saturday was the same thing. On Sunday, his fever went up to 105 F. He was very hot. He looked tired and slept all day. We gave him a sponge bath. Monday he was still warm. Tuesday his fever was gone. I was expected to see some rush because I thought the reason of his fever was “roseola infantumâ€. Instead, Akiva got sick. He had a clear running nose. He coughed and sneezed. He had very watery eyes which looked like he is having allergy. However all kids in my complex are having the same cold symptoms. Today Kenaz got pink rush on his face and upper body. Now I know he had roseola. Akiva was still the same condition. He had a lot of energy. Yet because of his nose and watery eyes, he looked very tired. I did not allow him to go out all day.
Our nanny went home at 5. We had an early dinner, leftover from last night (Jesse is out for Shanghai today). Akiva was watching a movie “Cars†(which he has seen gazillion times). He got bored in the middle and started jumped over Kenaz. I warned him three times. He did not stop. Then he stepped on Kenaz and made him very upset. I was really mad at Akiva and put him into his room. However in my mind I was slapping on his face and dragging his legs around in the living room. I cooled down myself and opened the door (Akiva was in his room for 2 minutes. He was crying loud). I told him not to jump over Kenaz again. This time he said he understood.
The rest of night we played a Tomas train set which Grandma Sue gave us. Kenaz did not want to play. He wanted me to hold him and walked around. I know he was tired and sleepy. The rails got separated. I wanted to fix them for Akiva. Kenaz started crying hard. He is always mommy’s boy. Recently it got worse. He has a major separation anxiety. When I am not around, he is OK to be with anyone. When I am around, he wants to occupy me. It is very healthy emotion for his age, yet makes my emotion unhealthy. In my mind, I was shaking up Kenaz and asking him “why?†I was possessed by the British exchange student/nanny.
Rising two kids is never easy. Some day is good day. Some day is harder than other day. Those days go by really quick too. Akiva is going to a kindergarten started this September. Kenaz will be one year old by that time. However, like tonight I really want to have a living nanny to help me to keep my testosterone low (I got a pimple on my cheek). *I don’t need to mention but Jesse is also very sick (as always…)
